Italy recap
Last October, I took part in a pet photography retreat hosted in Italy by The Pet Photographers Club. And it was absolutely amazing !
I have to say I was a little nervous at first to meet the other participants. I checked out their socials beforehand and thought to myself "Holy crap, these people know what they are doing AND are amazing at it. How am I going to fit in?"
Then by the time I got there, I had forgotten who does what and it created space to get to know the wonderful people behind the brands. It's funny because we all share the same insecurities when it comes to our business. And although that sucks, it felt nice to not feel alone.
Everybody was just so amazing. I'm not usually one to do well in a group setting; it takes me a while to warm up to people and gather the courage to actually participate in group conversation. I don’t know if it’s because we all share a major thing in common (our love of pets and photography), but I made friends super quickly on that trip. I'm proud of myself for that because that is WAY out of my comfort zone !
To me this retreat was kind of a full circle moment. At about the same time last year, I was soing the Business foundatiom challenge with Kirstie from The Pet Photographers Club. I knew it would be a milestone for my business and life-changing for me. Fast forward a year later and Im partaking in my very first photography retreat in freakin Italy !! Its amazing how life works out sometimes.
You can see in the gallery below the photos I took during the retreat.
